HOW A FRAZER NASH CLUTCH WORKS

When the Trustees were confronted two or three years ago with the prospect of putting on a dedicated three-month long FN display at the River & Rowing Museum in Henley it was decided that in addition to including a chain-driven car (the Byfleet) we needed to explain just how the transmission worked.  To this end an excellent mounted and mobile display was produced by Simon Blakeney-Edwards and this has proved to be a very popular attraction.

Another feature which makes these cars unique is the clutch, of course, and we are now producing a matching display setup demonstrating how this works.

All of the parts needed have now been assembled and we extend our grateful thanks to Dorinda Thirlby, Dennis Johnson, Patrick Blakeney-Edwards, Keith Bowman and Frazer Nash Ltd. Now for some welding, painting and bolting-up, after which we can show you the end result.  Or, of course, you can come down to Henley and see it and the rest of the collection for yourselves.
